Dear Friends:
Imagine if every labor and delivery staff person put the new baby on mom's
bare chest at birth, saying "Your baby needs to be near your heart after
birth to recover."
No questions asked.
Why are we asking mothers if they want their babies? What a dreadful
question!!
For those who are skeptical, ponder this.
How many things are done to a laboring mother that she does't want??
Do women really want 50 vaginal exams by total strangers? IV's? Machines
stuck in their personal, intimate orifices??
So what's one more thing? Put the baby where it needs to be. Let love take
over.
If she doesn't love her baby before she leaves, we are all in BIG trouble.
warmly,
Nikki
