Since there is no published information on this issue, I will share two
anecdotal experiences.
One of my clients developed leukemia (ALL) at about 18 months old. She
continued to bf through her treatment, with a brief nursing strike
during chemo which resolved when she was given anti-nausea drugs (laying
down to bf made this little girl sick). She recovered and was well last
I spoke to her mother.
A good friend's first child developed non-Hodgkins lymphoma at age 6.
She was bf his younger sibling, so fed him expressed milk on his cereal
once a day during his chemo and radiation. He's a grown man and is still
completely healthy.
