Has anyone ever heard of this? What is the connection between this severe
congestion and the TT. Mom is at her wits end, and feeling very frustrated
that she went ahead with the second clipping. The only connection I can think
of is that if the baby is not properly moving his tongue due to pain from
having it clipped or some sort of release from restriction, he is not clearing
fluids as he should, therefore causing the congestion.

I've seen feeding related congestion any time a baby is trying to move milk
and coordinate SSB with a tongue tie, or laryngomalacia/tracheomalacia. Often
it's before the frenulum release, but in this case I would wonder if the
newly released, and not yet controllable tongue, is leading to some milk
aerosolizing and ending up in the sinuses. Newly released tongues can be so weak, and
lack stamina as well, so often things get worse as the feeding progresses,
initially. If the baby is older than a week or so it can take more time. CST
and time usually help a baby get power, coordination and stamina.
