I have worked with a few "yeasty" moms who have battled thrush, then had treatment, then very mild thrush again. A common thread has been nipple sensitivity in the shower. This certainly doesn't address her breastfeeding pain, but if there's a history of trauma and even mild thrush, perhaps the shower sensitivity might subside by ruling out thrush. I've seen it as a precursor to getting thrush in some of my recurring thrush moms.
