Well, I got my first call yesterday that underscores the lack of common sense the H1N1 recommendations are producing. ?
Mother went to the emergency room with a fever and flu-like symptoms. ?MD diagnosed mastitis, but since she had the other symptoms told her to have someone else take care of the baby for 2-3 days, just in case she had H1N1. ?Mother called me yesterday after having sent her baby away for 3 days to ask if she could safely resume breastfeeding. . . I hope this baby will go to breast, but if not, we have now effectively taken away the one source of protection this infant had to the just started flu season. . . grrr!
