Nope, we need that baby to take milk out in order to remove feedback
inhibitor of lactation (FIL) and optimize mom's milk production; prevent
engorgement; and maintain the infant's blood sugar and energy. Most of
the babies I see in my private practice had difficulty latching in the
hospital, and never did get better with time.
