RE: www.breastfeedingchild.com
Pinky McKay is a well known and entertaining author on breastfeeding and
parenting topics in Australia. Her books are also on LLL's approved list.
She is an IBCLC and infant massage instuctor. I know her well, and suspect
that this is not her site, and she may not be aware of the content. I will
get in touch with her and ask her to clarify this for us.
Best wishes

I have permission to post. Is anyone familiar with this site and related
info? Some of the info is not accurate and product marketing seems a
focus...

Has anyone seen this website? http://www.breastfeedingchild.com Per the
copyright, it looks like it just went up this year.
Something about it just looks fishy. It's VERY text-heavy, and there are
quite a few images of babies drinking from bottles. Even the banner shows
to containers of (what I assume to be) breastmilk, rather than a baby
nursing.
It's also full of what I would call questionable, if downright discouraging,
advice. I found the "How Long To Breastfeed My Child," "Maximize Milk
Flow," and "Foods To Avoid" sections to be the most concerning. The "Which
Breast Pump Suits My Needs" reads as if the site is funded by Medela, Ameda,
or Avent. There's an ad for "Breastfeed Simply" by Pinky McCay on every
single page. Is she legit?
It all just reads very back-handed to me. Any ideas on how to find out
who's really behind it?
