Dear Betty
How frustrating when you know perfectly well that these mothers can breastfeed but choose the bottles
instead. In the hospital where I work I have seen huge changes since a policy has been adopted of
supplementing with cup or via finger feeding. No bottles are available. You will need buy in from management
because you need a policy and staff training, but bottles are now seldom seen. If a mother choose to feed
by bottle she needs to provide it.
For those who enquired about availability of the NZ posters, I asked about availability but sorry no they are not available as posters because they are going up on BUSES, in MALLS AND ON BIG SCREENS IN A SUPERMARKET GROUP! (yes I am shouting.)
There has however been lots of queries so they are looking at producing them in poster format for distribution in the health sector.
