I'm not a WIC LC but I wanted to share a quick idea anyway, since we
also encourage mothers to leave the buckets in the car and hold their
babies instead.
We held a 'baby-wearing fashion show' at our Breastfeeding Cafe' last
year. We planned ahead and invited all baby-wearing mothers to attend
with their favorite carrier. After the 'show' the mothers attending the
Cafe' were encouraged to inspect the carriers, ask questions and even
try them on. Even a few little girls wore their own slings with their
baby dolls in them. It was a hit all around.
I'm not sure how you could incorporate this at your WIC clinic, but I
just wanted to share the idea anyway.
