"I am wavering about the use of the word 'optimal' (in conjunction with breastfeeding promotion)."

Well...  Back when the 1997 AAP policy statement first came out, one newspaper reported that "the guidelines present merely the ideal."  So much for optimal, ideal, or perfect?
