is very dependent on nursing emotionally. The  mother can not imagine weaning

Hale's Medications and Mothers' Milk states :
PEDIATRIC CONCERNS; None reported via milk. It is unlikely to be absorbed
while dissolved in milk due to instability in acid.

Pharmacists can afford a copy of Hale and every pharmacy should have one.
Almost all La Leche League Leaders and IBCLCs have them as  well. She can also
call one of the localish (LI or Westchester)  Breastfeeding Medicine docs who
are MDs and IBCLCs, if she wants more  information from a doctor who knows. Her
pediatrician might know more than  this pharmacist, since some infants are
put on Prevacid (a cousin)  for  reflux. There is also the Lactation Studies
Center upstate and other  sources.
