Adriana,
I highly recommend that you contact Roberta Graham de Escobedo from Mexico -
she is an IBCLC there and also a member of the ILCA Board:

In Puerto Rico we used the term "Consultora de Lactancia" and just like in
the US where people call themselves "Lactation Counselors" and "Lactation
Educators" and "Lactation consultants" it was very confusing for people -
but eventually the word gets out who you are and what you do - especially
when you create support groups, work with physicians and provide community
education. It is a process, and not something that happens overnight.
Resources for Spanish materials are available in La Leche League:
www.llli.org/LangEspanol.html and in Proyecto Lacta: www.prlacta.org as well
as in WIC of most states - in California we have various links to posters
and handouts in: http://cdph.ca.gov/breastfeeding. You may want to check
these out, as translations take so much time!
