Angie Daniels from NJ/USA writes: The mother of a 30 week preterm baby
born 8 days ago called me today=20 stating that every time she pumps she
becomes dizzy and lightheaded.=20 Yesterday she also experienced a
headache while pumping. She only feels = this=20 way during and shortly
after pumping and it is getting worse to the point= that=20 she has
stopped pumping.

Have you considered mother's nutritional status? I have seen this with
diabetic mothers in need of adjustments to their snacks and mothers with
poor nutritional intake. Is mom eating carbs/fats and protein with
meals and snacks? Possibly not getting enough long term energy? I am
not suggesting she overeat but eat wisely. I also worked with a mother
that was eating a VERY low carb diet to lose weight and would get dizzy
with breastfeeds. that was little to no carbs at all.
