Geesh - will it never cease? I got a call from an angry frustrated dad
tonight. He has had 2 pediatricians and an ENT tell him his baby is not
tongue tied. Well, I guess except for the very high bubble palate and the
fact the tongue has almost no range of motion and baby cannot breastfeed I
guess she is fine. Oh - but it gets better. They say there is nothing to
clip. Well, of course they can't SEE the frenulum - it's UNDER the floor of
her mouth! It is a submucosal tongue tie! Oh, but it gets even better!
The ENT said that her jaw is recessed and that is what is keeping the tongue
back. Funny, the physiotherapist who worked on her 3 days ago (who I trust
implicitly) and I (who saw her a week ago) did not see any severely recessed
jaw.we saw a normal jaw slightly recessed as it should be - a little tight,
yes. But that is why she was sent to the physiotherapist who released the
tight muscles.

So dad wants and needs any information I can give him to prove the Drs wrong
and get his baby help. He doesn't want to believe that his daughter needs
help tho so he is torn between believing them and believing me and he
admittedly stated that he trust them before me. Whatever.this isn't about
me - it's about a baby who cannot breastfeed, a mother who desperately wants
to breastfeed, 2 LC's who documented a severe submucosal t-t and how to get
this kid some help.

I will be scouring my books for paperwork I can send him but I need more -
something like articles or documentation on submucosal tongue
ties.specifically a frenulum that is under the floor of the mouth.

Thank you in advance for any articles, websites, etc anyone can send me.Yes
I'll be e-mailing Cathy Genna but I know she is hella busy right now.

Warmly,

Jaye

Tired of having to prove that I know what I am talking about.
