I was contacted by a mother with a problem with overabundant milk
supply and strong milk ejection reflex.. Her daughter seemed scared
for the milk ejection reflex and the mother had some problems for her
to latch on. I wrote about the method Full drainage and block feeding
method i n Amningsnytt a couple of years ago and sent the article to
the mother as it didn't seem to help her merely to instruct her to
feed at one side at the time.

Now the mother contacted me and said she gave it a try yesterday. She
pumped both breasts (right side 100 ml, left side 50 ml) and then fed
her daughter on the right one. The daughter fell asleep and slept for
an unusual long time. Then she kept on feeding on the right side
yesterday, and then apparently didn't feed during the night. When she
woke up this morning her left breasst was really really hard and the
problem had rather gotten worse. She didn't sound happy at all as she
rang.

So please help me. What shall I advise her to do next?

The daughters' weight gain, stools etc have been without problems but
she is fussy during feedings and also sslept for longer intervals
when she got fatter milk. Mum tried nipple shield earier and doubted
that would help to slow down the milk flow.
