Dear Friends:
Why are women given product to use in hospitals when they have breasts with
milk in them that they could use?
How many women have we cared for with nipple pain/damage because they kept
smearing the product on instead of learning comfortable positioning? How many
nipple/areolas are so smeared with goo that the baby can't get a good grasp?
It's gotten so that I teach women if they MUST use product every feed to
deal with nipple soreness, that really means they need a lactation consultant?
What are women learning when they are given product instead of being
supported to discover the positioning that works for them and their baby?
warmly,
