Subject: responding to cues
Rachel says, "I offered her a breast in response to pretty much all of her
signals..." and I totally agree with you, Rachel!
This may sound a little bit crass, but my motto is "When in doubt, whip it
out!"

Laurie,
I love this saying and use it all the time when moms-to-be, new moms, old
moms and in between ask about frequency of breastfeeding. I preface the
saying by stating this may be a bit crude but it always gets a laugh, and sure
enough it always does. Interestingly, moms tell me months later they
forgot a lot of what's been instructed/told them but always remember, "when in
doubt.." Did you originate this, Laurie? Would love to give credit to
you or whomever, as I always say that I heard this years ago.
I agree so with your story too Rachel. Years ago a LLL leader asked me
how often I nursed my toddler and I responded I had no idea in terms of
numbers for which she praised me and it stopped my questioning if I was doing
the right thing.
