Thanks so much for the feed-back. How marvellous that the mom (with
your help) sorted out what might have turned into a maor
inconvenience. Good on her. I took a stab in the dark about this -
and have now learned something. Whoever would have believed that
such a thing could happen?

Interesting that the only other baby you've worked with, who wouldn't
be "re-set" turned out to have Autism. That makes sense too -
probably not wanting to be touched... And nursing lying down _does_
result in less body contact, because the baby lies on the bed, rather
than on the mom .....

So could we say that if a strike with this cause cannot be resolved
after a reasonable effort and time, then it would be a red flag for
referral? The only baby I've worked with who really did seem happier
lying on a bed/couch/cot rather than in mom's arms (and I sent the
baby back to the GP for a check because it was so very unusual) did
in fact turn out to have something very wrong... I'm not sure if it
was Autism as such, but he became quite developmentally and mentally
challenged as he grew older. Very sad.

It never ceases to amaze me how much we still have to learn about
seemingly "simple" breastfeeding problems. Glad this one turned out well :-)
