I think they date from the 1940's. They were the glass, wide-mouthed, easy to clean alternative to the tiny-mouthed (1/2" opening) bottles common in the '20's and '30's. I have a couple of 8oz and one 4oz "antique" Hygeia bottles in my collection of infant feeding devices.
It seems they are generally unaware of the company's bottle-making history, so I wonder how the new pump company came to adopt the bottle company's name?
