Maureen you said
LLLCanada never endorsed lansinoh - in fact they have a disclosure
statement printed and inserted into LLL resources printed in the US and
distributed in Canada.
you might be interested to hear that LLLGB have never endorsed it either
and we do have a statement which goes in US resources which we use
Even before they were taken over by Pigeon their marketing tactics were of
concern. I remember one day being at a meeting at our local hospital and
lansinoh came up. I explained that no, we didn't endorse it, it was only
LLLI endorsed it. These were women I'd known for a long time and they
accepted this; half way through the meeting though a midwife came in who had
recently spoken to the lansinoh rep, who had given her copies of the LLLI
leaflet with a sample on. I had come across as someone had brought me one
over from the US, it so recognised it. Obviously vs. embarrassing for me,
having assured them that we endorsed no product , that our literature
did speak about moist wound healing but mentioned no product by name ; we
did complain too lansinoh who said it was just a one off mistake...that
their rep just happened to have an American leaflet without any disclaimer
at just one hospital, and it wouldn't happen again .
