I am a graduate student at New York University. I am conducting a survey as part of my Master's Thesis to evaluate the attitudes of health care professionals towards the WHO's Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in order to better understand the lack of designated Baby Friendly hospitals in the U.S.

Project Summary Statement
You have been invited to take part in a research study to learn more about the World Health Organization's Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and its impact on hospitals in the United States. This study is being conducted by Sandy Levering, a graduate student in
the department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University, as part of a graduate research class. The class instructor's name is Dr. Kristie Lancaster. You must be 18 years old or older to participate. If you agree to participate, you will be asked to fill out the survey below, which will ask about your knowledge of and attitudes towards the WHO Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative. There are no known risks associated with your participation in this research beyond those of everyday life. Although you will receive no direct benefits, this research may help the investigator better understand any barriers to the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in U.S. hospitals and the attitudes of health care professionals towards breastfeeding and the initiative.
Confidentiality of your research records will be strictly maintained. The information you provide will be completely anonymous and will be recorded using only a random identification number. No name or personal identifying information will be asked. Participation in this study is voluntary. You may refuse to participate or withdraw at any time without penalty. You have the right to skip or not answer any questions you prefer to not answer.
