Dear friends,
In my country is an initiative to help found a low-scale midwifery project in an African country. Donations are sought in natura, like left over (unused) midwife and maternity care equipment and some second hand tools. One off the items asked for are second hand hand-milk-pumps.
Does any of you wise people know of any scientific works to show that this is not an advisable thing to do (the 2nd hand pumps for developing world countries)? That would greatly help in the discussion we are having on this topic.
Warmly,
Gonneke, IBCLC, LLLL, MOM in southern Netherlands
