 Overactive letdown:

I use Natural Calm
magnesium with good results ( have used mag for years, but this has
been my favorite--moms love the results). I am requesting moms also
check vit D levels. But, I also think a lot of problems are b/c of
inefficient latch--babies who can get their heads back can handle a lot
faster flow. So, I also refer for chiro/cst if I think that is the
problem.

 Losing milk at 4 mos:
First eliminate possibility of pregnancy or contraceptive use. Then I optimize nutrition, esp fats and phytonutrients. Sometimes really increasing frequency of efficient milk removal for 48 hours makes a huge difference. I like Motherlove and their products, but for serious supply issues--I always use a loose tea blend. Moms get better results. Also, have mom get a chiro ajustment and/or acupuncture. See a homeopath. I never trust an allopath's reading of thyroid. Mom should have iodine levels tested or she can try taking the thyroid co-factors--L-tyrosine, selenium and iodine in the form of kelp and see what happens.
