A mom asked me whether it is possible to send a sample or culture of her baby's stool to the lab and have it tested to see if the baby is being fed artificial infant milk in her absence. She is currently separated from the baby's father and is under a lot of stress from the grief he gives her regarding her desire to breastfeed the baby exclusively. He has visitation privileges for 4 hours 2 days a week. She is highly suspicious of him and his mother and suspects they are feeding the baby artificial infant milk instead of the expressed breastmilk she is providing. She says that his stool appearance and consistency have changed --that they are smelly and dark. Also, if she had it tested what code would the lab use?
I would appreciate feedback.
