Virginia remembers this quote from Edwina "All babies are good babies.
Some are just easier to live with." It's one of my favourite's, too, but I
had forgotten who it originated with. She also mentions that 3 hourly feeds
were a fad some time ago in her part of the world. Sadly it's not so here!
I share the info about baby transitioning to extra uterine life, small size
of baby's stomach etc, but it's very difficult to change the mindset of what
being a "good" mother is as judged by a mother's culture/community - as
Karleen so eloquently discussed in a recent post. We plod on regardless -
of course this info does make a difference to some parents and that's what
keeps us all going!
