We haven't used DeLee suction catheters since AIDS became an issue. Do
they make them differently these days? I haven't worked L & D for several
years, but when we did delee suctioning, we sometimes got a mouthful of the
baby's mucous. That wasn't fun!

We have a new pediatrician who is requesting that all c-section babies be
delee suctioned after birth. Does anyone know of any studies addressing
this
issue and its potential effect on feeding (or any other negative effects)?
Thank you,
