Hi all those following this discussion. I asked Arly to send me the
reference documents that she mentioned in the letter she sent re court case
ie those that cover:
(1) the rights of the mother to breastfeed
(2) the rights of the baby to be breastfed
It has become obvious that I still have a lot to learn concerning these
things - especially which documents refer to what 'right' and more
importantly, which of those documents has been 'ratified' into law and hence
are legally 'valid' to defend/argue effectively.
Most countries have become 'signatories' to the various 'Conventions' which
fall under the Human Rights Framework.
Individual countries can have 'reservations' & 'objections' to various
'Articles' within the Conventions.
Individual States within countries can have variations thereof. (Is this
where 'civil' rights come into it?)
Please feel free to 'correct' this info if you think I've got it 'wrong'.
Cheers - from the now somewhat confused Julieanne.
