I sighed, Diane.
To me, as that breath went out, it was a shedding of whatever else in the world was happening. I was here and centering on what was most important.
It was a very calming feeling.
So calming, in fact, that once after a car accident (no one was injured, but I was quite shaken), I knew that I had to breastfeed to calm myself even though my 3 mo nursling wasn't expressing any urgency to bfd at the time.
And, by golly, those hormones did the trick!
Maybe for me, the sigh is in preparation/expectation of the hormones?
