Hi Everyone,
I received a question from a coworker that I don't know the answer to: She
said that a mom came into our WIC clinic and told her that her baby had
choked on the breastmilk while breastfeeding, and stopped breathing. An
ambulance took her to the hospital, and then she was transferred to a
children's hopstial for further evaluation. They found nothing wrong with the
baby.
Is it possible for a baby to choke on breastmilk to the point of needing
emergency medical care?

Warmly,
Susie McCulloch, LLLL IBCLC
