Lactnet,
I am doing a research paper and I would like to reference the article
responsible for the standard number of stools and voids per day of life that
determines if breastfeeding is going well. I think we are all familar with
the number of stools and voids an infant should have especially on day 4-5
of life, but I want to know where these numbers originated from. I have been
reviewing WIC materials and it seems that there are no references and many
publications contradict each other. I have seen 3 stool on day 2, 2 stool
on day 2 and 1 on day 2 all in WIC materials. SO, is anyone able to help me
with a good, evidence based reference? Thank you!
