Water soluble vitamins are just peed out. Mom ever considered eating oats for breakfast? I've developed an oats affair - found out that I could fix them without burning them by putting 1/2 cup oats to 1 cup water, a little salt and cinnamon in a very large glass bowl in the microwave for 5 minutes. Add my yogurt, berries and nuts and I'm good for hours. And I'm someone who suffers from low blood sugar if I don't get a good breakfast and commercial cereal and milk didn't get it for me. We probably don't get enough vitamin D in standard foods and that's been discussed before on lactnet.

Subject: Too many vitamins?
Hi All,
Permission to post from a mom in my mommy group. Please respond privately or to the list. :-) Jaye
Baby is 5.5 months old, I do breast-feed her and take my vitamins (for lactating women).
My breakfast usually consists of cereal with milk. I have noticed recently that ALL cereal is loaded with vitamins itself - A,C, B6, B12, E etc...
Does it mean that I get too much vitamins? For example, my pill has 104% of daily value and cereal has 100% of DV - so total will be over 200%!!!
Have anybody thought about that before? Could it be dangerous for me or baby?
Is there any cereal where they do not add all these vitamins?
Thanks a lot for your thoughts,
