Yes, I do offer the suggestion of probiotics for any woman taking
antibiotics for whatever reason. I do not have a research ref, but it is in
my "general store of knowledge" via my RN training, I guess. It is to help
keep the good bacteria going in the gut while the antiobiotic is tipping the
balance in favor of potentially a "bad" bacteria overgrowth.
Having had C. difficile and nearly dying from it, I would not wish that on
anyone.
