Lisa, I have made no cruel and insulting comments about NICU staff. I
have discussed a range of human natures and behaviours. And stated that
NICU staff are not exempt from the same stresses as all other human
beings. In that, I have stated that like all other areas of human
endeavour, some NICU staff and units will be there as shining beacons of
how things should be done, and will have practice of such excellence,
that we can all aspire to their achievements. Those comments do not
seem to have been noted.
I have pointed out that complex organisational systems are made up of a
whole range of such individuals, under a system of management.
And it is, quite impossible, that every single NICU facility in the
entire world, 24/7, is working to the highest of all standards. And
therefore it is legitimate to question, discuss and debate, operating
procedures within these systems.
And that no one should be insulted, or feel personally attacked, if such
debate takes place.
I am finding it disturbing indeed, that there is a notion, that any
section of health or social care, is so sealed in perfection, that
legitimate enquiry is deemed an insult.
