Interesting thoughts, but wouldn't that mean that letdown only occurs after oxytocin wears off?
Just inquiring mode jumping up here ...

withdrawal/dip from the oxytocin hit. As the oxytocin leaves, it
leaves a vacuum of negative feeling in its wake.:
How perceptive of you! This is something we've pondered.
"Wonder what would happen if the women used an oxytocin spray as it hit?
Would it get worse, or better....?"
That's one we *hadn't* pondered! She just got a prescription for nasal spray pitocin. Our thinking was that, if it doesn't penetrate the blood-brain barrier (and there's some question as to whether or not it does), she should get a spontaneous let-down without the D-MER feelings. We hadn't thought to give her a second hit! Excellent!
So the pitocin experiment needs to be two-fold - first to find out from her reactions whether it crosses the blood-brain barrier, and second, if it does, to see if we can head off the emotional dip with another hormonal surge. Interesting!
