Regarding "Baby Freindly Education for Nurses"?: I am an RN, BSN, IBCLC at a community hospital in Texas.? We do about 3000 deliveries a year. We are moving toward becoming baby freindly.? Right now we are a Texas Ten Step Member.? This means we comply with the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding.? We require our nurses to take classes from the Texas Department of Health WIC.? An IBCLC from?our capital in Austin will come down up to 4 times a year to give free Breastfeeding Managment classes for 2 fill days.? We do pay our nurses to go, since it is a requirment.? Other than that there is little expense.? The nurses provide their own lunch and we provide beverages and snacks. The classes provide about 12 approved CEU's.? Have you checked with your State Health Department to see if they offer similar classes?
