Hi,
I have no research available, but figure it might have something to do with
solving blockades in nerve paths, thereby clearing the way for oxytocin to
flow again.
Oxy is not only a hormone, it is also a neurotransmitter, so free nerve
paths are important to have optimal effects.
Oxy in the bloodstream is important, but it is the combination from working
as a hormone as well as working as a neurotransmitter that makes it so
powerful.
All in all: sounds quite logical, that acupunture might help! ;-)
Bye,
Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands (and about to go to bed, as she has
to get up early tomorrow and train the volunteer bf counsellors on...
oxytocin! hahaha)
