I am curious how others are handling the use of Marijuana in moms who are 
breastfeeding. I am speaking from more of a legal standpoint. I. E. In the 
hospital with a positive tox screen documented.

On one hand, not much evidence to show harmful effects to baby.
On the other hand, contraindicated by the AAP.
Hale says for contraindicated drugs to wait 4-5 half lives..(which would be 4-5 
days for MJ)

What are others doing in this situation (in -hospital setting)??
Do you have mom pump and dump for 4-5 days, not address it and proceed 
with the consult?, have the physician document that it is ok to BF?  

I am a bit conflicted about having mom pump and dump but am not sure that I 
can hang out there on a limb and condradict the AAP..
