I had a mom call me today. She had been exclusively breastfeeding, added
solids at 6 months, and had been able to pump ample enough milk for baby
when she is at work. She pumps twice at work, and twice at home too. Told
me she is getting only an ounce after 30 minutes. She is not taking birth
contol, or did not take depo. She nurses the baby alot at home, prior to
solids, and the baby is content. She is wondering why her pumping supply
went down, though she says the baby is content with BF. I forgot to ask her
if she could be pregnant. I gave her information on Reglan she can give to her
primary MD. Anything else? I told her it could be that she is adjusting her
supply to have more when she is actually nursing the baby. She gave me
permission to post. Kathy Demchuk RN IBCLC, sore after all this yard work in
Illinois
