I'm exempt from this conversation, as my child is only 4 years old.

But to this I have to say: me too!

No one touched us, at all.  And when we struggled, and had a stall on 
weight recovery, my midwife just said "Well, you'll get there, see you 
tomorrow".  She did talk about positioning, and encouraged, and talked 
about how good he was at feeding.  But she didn't touch either of us.  
Neither did the weekend midwife, who alternated with her.

It was a couple of years before I realised how much I owed her (them), 
for absolutely no interventions whatsoever.  At the time, I felt I was 
drowning.  But we both learned to swim - my baby and me.   :-)
