This week is a major holiday for Jews, Christians and Moslems, all celebrated in different ways for different reasons.  But the focus of all them is light and warmth during the dark cold winter (yes I know Australia and regions are in the middle of summer, but all these festivals originated in countries that are now mid-winter)
As I write this some much-needed rain is lashing against the windows whereas in the USA the snow is perhaps too much of a good thing.
So may you all travel safely to your celebrations and be with your loved ones for a wonderful holiday.
And may you all have a peaceful, healthy, successful and happy new year.
