Having attempted using a SNS and lactaid ala Jack Newman, I can say I
would be interested in trying the lactaide device. The tubes on the
SNS are very flexible and I had a very difficult time latching my baby
with a good latch and getting the tube in her mouth. I also found the
the tubing tended to clog with donor milk. I used the medium tube on
the lactaid and a #5 feeding tube with the Newman lactaid. The
feeding tube was easier to use because I could slip it in once baby
was latched. I found both devices so frustrating to use that I
abandoned them in favour of giving supplements by bottle.

At some point a friend and I want to send medela a critique of the SNS
with advice on how they could improve the design. Anyone here
interested in doing R&D for an improved SNS?
