I have to say, the CDC's presentation on the H1N1 flu could easily have been
an advertisement for breastfeeding - thanks to Kat Shealy's great
presentation! You can read some of it in the CDC Website, but you can't
HEAR the words - Thanks for being there, Kat!
Go to: http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/clinician_pregnant.htm and scroll down to
"Breastfeeding Considerations"

..now one concern I've not heard voiced is that the likelihood a mom has H1N1
virus and is breastfeeding is much smaller than the likelihood that she may
be having flu-like symptoms and have mastitis - I would hate to have a mom
go to the ER and expose herself to all the germs there - to get an antiviral
- when she really needs to see her ob and get an antibacterial!
..just as the saying goes - "When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not
zebras"
