In line with "my breastmilk has no glucose".. heard both these today...

Midwife who stated to 14 week pregnant and still nursing Mum that...
nursing during pregnancy means you have to be induced as the body gets
too used to oxytocin and won't start labour any more.  Makes a chance
from it causing miscarriage, I suppose...  The real kicker in this, is
that the Mum was experiencing contractions, and asked if everything was
okay... to which the answer was, it didn't matter as the nursing would
prevent labour starting normally at term!

and..

Mum was offering to donate breastmilk to a new mother with thyroid
cancer, to get baby off formula after Mum had to have radiation therapy
the week after baby was born... and baby's paed vetoed it.  Baby was on
gastric reflux meds, and paed stated the medication would sour the
breastmilk....

Ho Hum.
