**Interesting... Those ladies, not going out without pearls and hats... was
that a contingent of the population that built LLL or exactly the part that
was not engaged...?
Somehow to me it seems like we're talking about a more wealthy part of
society and (when I link it to the Dutch situation) a very specific part as
well.
I don't *have* pearls and I suppose many women didn't in the 50's...?
Hmmm... this small sentence from Pat makes me wonder about the story behind
it... ;-)
