Hi Everyone,
Last night a nurse practitioner approached me and asked me if I read the
study that came out about 2 weeks ago that compared the intelligence of
children who were just breastfed, to those who received breastmilk and formula
(containing DHA) and those who received just formula(with DHA).
I searched the archives, but could have been plugging in the wrong words.
Have you seen this? Did I miss it on Lactnet????
The results showed a 12% increase in intelligence in those receiving the
DHA formula over those just breastfed. I was too taken aback to ask her who
did the study etc. I will ask her tonight if I don't here anything from y'all, but
I wanted to research it today. I plan to google it, but wanted to throw it out
to Lactnet as well.
Respectfully,
Linda Hill RN, IBCLC
Austin, Tx (enjoying all the wildflowers!)
