This story about octuplets being born in Ca. will be splashed around the
papers for about a week, and, then when it's old news, the celebrating
will
be over and the nightmare will continue for this family.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
oh, i don't know that it's all doom and gloom and dire circumstances
for this family. i bet you donuts to dollars they are the overnight
celebrity stars of a reality series like 'john and kate plus 8' & the
duggars and their 19ish children. then they'll get loads of money to
be filmed around the clock, free diapers, junk food, formula and
minivans - - and we can all sit and be titillated at how those 8
babies are not only being raised deprived of a normal gestation,
birth, breastmilk, bonding time w/ parents and optimum health, but
also a complete lack of dignity and privacy as they grow up on camera.
won't that be great ?
i don't know how many ppl see me w/ my 5 kids and immediately ask if i
watch either of those shows or follow the exploits of either family.
i'm aghast at being compared to them. to 1st of all risk the babies'
lives and lifelong health w/ fertility treatments to have so many ...
then to obviously not be able to breastfeed them and further
disadvantage them... and then to film their entire lives w/out their
consent and exploit them for financial gain ... and as far as i'm
concerned once you've had more than 15 or so, (said tongue in cheek
here) you're not raising them anymore, they're raising each other.
they're lucky if they even get to have a one-on-one conversation w/
you once a week. i'm all for big families, but not when it risks
someone's life or health - and maybe even dignity - w/out their
consent.
