I am working today with twins, one of which has a preliminary diagnosis of
craniosynostosis. It is believed at this point that the sagittal suture is fused.
The baby has not fed well since birth two days ago. She takes about 5 or 6
sucks but will not maintain a sucking pattern. The information I am being
given is that this condition is cosmetic only, but I am wondering what kind of
effect this condition might have on feeding.
The other twin is feeding great. The birth was a planned c-section. Babies
are both 7+ pounds, 39 weeks gestation.
Any insight you all might have would be much appreciated.
