According to M Jane Heinig, PhD, et al, in her article "Mammary Candidosis
in Lactating Women," JHL 15(4) 1999, page 286, "Gentian Violet is the dried
rhizome and roots of Gentiana lutea, a fungicide." According to Dr Thomas
Hale, in "Medications and Mother's Milk", 2004, "Gentian violet ... is an
exceptionally effective antifungal and antimicrobial." Both good sources.
