What kind of bottle and what size of hole? Could it be that the formula
is thicker and comes out more slowly from the specific bottle she's
using? Could it be that the breast milk comes out too fast for baby's
comfort? Sometimes parents don't look at that side of the issue. In
Gromada's flowrate research she looked at both substances and found
different flow rates with the same nipple.

Subject: Refusal of breastmilk
Hi,
I have a query from a mother who is working & expressing Her baby is
staying in another town (approx 2-3 hours drive away) with her in-laws &
she only sees her baby at the weekends. When she is with her baby he
feeds from the breast quite happily but totally refuses breastmilk from
a bottle. I thought maybe changes in the milk from freezing but she says
that baby will also refuse freshly expressed milk in a bottle.Baby will
take formula milk in a bottle - no problems. Any thoughts or tips for
this mom. She has no-one to care for the baby in the town she is living
in. Just in case any advice on possible changes in frozen & transported
EBM. Would really appreciate any tips. I am currently nomail so would
appreciate replies to [log in to unmask] Many thanks, Christine Choong
