HI Jack & all
Amazing & disturbing!

³Amazing and disturbing² ?????!!!!

No, predictable and inevitable.

We gave this to them. There are people on this list who signed on to the
recommendation to supplement all breastfed babies with vitamin D rather than
telling mothers that sunshine provided adequate vitamin D conversion for
most babies and supplementation should be individualized.

This successful and highly publicized assault on nursing will continue until
we stand up to them.

I said it the first time and Iıll say it again, as more mothers are
convinced that breast milk is incomplete and potentially dangerous because
of our official recommendations for supplementation, iron studies and
studying growth charts, we might prevent a few cases of rickets, diagnose
some cases of anemia and detect an obscure FTT baby here and there. But, we
will lose breastfeeding (and especially exclusive breastfeeding) in hundreds
of thousands of babies and our short-sightedness and wimpy attitude will
cost many babies their health and even their lives.

Yes, yes, I know, ³youıve² seen a dozen cases of rickets or anemia. Fix
them. Donıt ruin an entire generation of breastfeeding advocacy by aiding
the ³other sideıs² promotion of fear of breast milk.
